Mavakhalan (native: mavaxalan) was the language spoken in the city-state of Khalan (Mavakhalan: xalan, Adāta: khalanu) approximately 1000 years after the death of the prophet Zārakātias. It is a language of the Edastean family, descended from Adāta. The most defining phonological characteristic of Mavakhalan was a systematic ±palatal contrast in the consonantal system.
