Wañelín
The Wañelín lake is located in northwest Peilaš, and its name is also applied to the region surrounding it. It is not far northeast from the Lukpanic coast, and lies to the west of a range of mountains, on the left side of which is the Western steppe, and on the right side of which is the Aiwa valley.
The area was inhabited by Western speakers by -2000 YP, and a distinct branch, the Lake Western languages, developed there. They were descended from the proto-language Çetázó, and included Šetâmol, Óhylvídós and Shtåså; the corresponding peoples were the Wañelínlawag, Óhylamja and Anješnaloks (though the Anješnaloks migrated to Tjakori). By -500 YP, the Wañelínlawag people, speaking Šetâmol, controlled a small empire around the lake, which traded with the cities of the Lukpanic coast.
