I'll bear that in mind. For the descendants, I've been imagining a sort of two-step process of V[+creaky] > Vʔ etc., with the resulting ʔC clusters merging. I think that seems plausible enough. This paper shows that Vʔ sequences can vary with V[+creaky] sequences. Alces 13:19, 30 December 2011 (UTC)
