Hah, so I was not the only one thinking about deriving a Dumic daughter not knowing the protolanguage? :P Anyway, I look forward to see more. Also, DL and AF seem pretty obvious, but what does “N” stand for? the Devilcat (talk) 03:31, 20 January 2015 (PST)

Evidently not! Most of this is from 2011, though a little bit of it postdates the reveal (and now I'm contaminated). It is a Dumic language nobody asked for. 4pq1injbok (talk) 12:00, 20 January 2015 (PST)
Nice one. By the way, you can see one small sketch of mine here. (I haven't got the sound changes anymore, though.) the Devilcat (talk) 15:34, 20 January 2015 (PST)
Whoa, that's a huge diversification in terms of number of segments. In DLNAF a thoroughgoing palatality split is the main thing that's going on in the consonants. The reason I did that is that I figured there should exist a middle ground in the family between Tetlo, which trifurcated every consonant, and all the other well-understood branches which had no systematic splits of similar conditioning. Perhaps in terms of the actual reconstructed phylogeny that'll make no sense, though. 4pq1injbok (talk) 17:01, 20 January 2015 (PST)
