Njemnetsian Biology

Njemnetsian biology is the biology of Njemnetsa.

Plants

Grains

  • *k!añṭṣay (Ku-Antsay): A grain that stores saltwater in it's leaves. It is mainly found growing along the ocean.
  • *mbedama:A grass. It comes in two varieties- *mbedama k!aʔok and *mbedama k!ektuñ
  • *titak A flowery species of plant related to the phes plant of the Lené Valley. Its seeds are eaten because, as scientists from Peilaś have discovered, they are high in protein, fibers, and vitamin B.

Fruits

  • *nʘu (Naw): A plant that grows fruit rich in exotic flavor. It is an evergreen tree, and is tall. It is commonly seen growing in farms around Njemnetsa.
  • *somk!ayñ (Somecane: )An orange fruit that grows near the coasts of Njemnetsa. As it is rare to people more inland, it is of high value to inlanders.The king Likpøyʔtðum grew a garden of them in his palace.
  • *śay (Shay): A shrub that grows to around 5 ft. The people of Njemnetsa eat it's seeds and use it in medicine to treat warts.
  • *ṭṣay: A fruit that grows from a tree. It is edible and is used in many meals, similar to nʘu.
  • *xmina (Chumeena): A plant that grows fruit. It is rarer than naw, but not as rare as somecane. Its flowers' leaves are purple.

Vegetables

  • *gmok: Gmok is a 3 foot tall plant with yellow flowers. It is both eaten and used for medicine.
  • *gṇayṇḍẓu (Gninezoo): This is a vegetable. It is almost identical-looking to xmina.
  • *k!!ey (Kay): It's leaves are lush, as they sustain water from the melting ice underground that is brought up by its roots, similar to a cactus. It is mainly eaten to have water in the middle of the Antartic Desert and therefore is very common in dishes, as regular water would freeze.
  • *ndima (Ndeema): A plant found near the coast, ndima looks like tall grass.
  • *nlley (Nulley): A plant that bears wide leaves, similar to Earth's hostas, and has yellow flowers.
  • *xṇimṭṣu (Chunimsoo): This is a plant with pointy leaves.

Animals

Marsupials (Vulgar Core K!asic meʔø)

  • *kuwaymeʔ (Coowemay): An animal with a long trunk. It's name means 'head with trunk'.
  • *śamxnine (Shamknine): Similar to the coowemay but without a trunk. It's name means 'non-human blanket'.
  • *imeʔ (Imay): Similar to the coowemay but with a longer body and trunk.
  • *kexewaymeʔ (Cexewemay): A kangaroo like quadruped. Literally 'deer with trunk'.
  • *g!!ataymeʔ (Gatemay): An animal that has an ax-like trunk. It's name means 'axetrunk'.
  • *njeymku (Njemku): An animal with it's trunk above it's head. It's name, 'dighead', comes from it's behavior of digging holes in the ground with it's face.
  • *siksaymeʔ (Sicksemay): An animal very closely related to njeymku that lives in swamps in the islands off of the coast.
  • *dzolomeʔ (Dzolome): An animal that looks somewhat like a ferret. It gets its name (table trunk) from it's smooth muzzle.
